Appco Hong Kong has launched the 'Dirty Drinking Water' campaign for 'Save the Children'. The event took place in Times Square, Hong Kong.
The event raised awareness of the challenge posed by dirty drinking water to children in developing countries such as India, Ethiopia and China.
The campaign draws attention to dirty water's annual death toll of 1.8 million people. Every day forty-five thousand die from water-borne diseases such as Dengue Fever, Malaria, Cholera, Hepatitis A and Typhoid.
How did the campaign work?
A seven foot by four foot vending machine with dirty water running from a tap was displayed in the event booth. Field Representatives approached the general public with a dirty bottle of water to convey the plight of many children across the developing world.
The comparison between a clean bottle of water and dirty drinking water was also presented to provide people with the perspective of the difficulty faced by children in developing countries to obtain clean water, compared to more developed nations such as Hong Kong.
The Appco Group campaign continues to save the lives of children all over the world.
